TO BE HATED
First off, sorry for disappearing off the face of the planet again! Been quite busy at work lately :/ ANYWAYS, saw this excellent band at Churchill’s on Friday night at 786 Fest. Siiiiick band, one of my favorites of the night. Also very impressed with the lady guitarist, she was rad as fuck and played like crazy. I’ve heard OF To Be Hated but this was my first time actually seeing them and I have to say they have definitely found themselves a new fan! Absolutely for fans of punk. Click here for their MySpace where you can listen to their music and check out tour dates. They have a show coming up at Churchill’s on July 21st which I will most DEFINITELY be attending!

Submissions

Alrighty so I’ve received a couple submissions about bands that are a little different from the usual ska/punk ones that I normally post about, these two are called Van Gogh Sky and Devalued, both from Florida. Not only are the different from the other bands, they are quite different from each other. Van Gogh Sky is really chill, indie, and put together; I get a kind of Vampire Weekend-type feel from them. Devalued is super crazy hardcore and the complete opposite of Van Gogh Sky. Again, not what I typically listen to or write about but I definitely get the feeling that both bands are beyond awesome live. I will get in proper reviews for the bands soon, in the mean time check them out for yourselves on Facebook. Click here for Van Gogh Sky and here for Devalued!

COME TO THIS SHOW.

CAULFIELD REBELLION
Went to Churchill’s again last night and saw these guys play, fucking rad band. I loved every single song they played. I think it’s great when you see musicians really getting into their music and these guys certainly did. The singer is punk as fuck, he was so into it that he kept pushing the microphone by accident so he had to rotate around to sing and then put it back for every song. Awesome energy, great songs, and lyrics with zero bullshit. Highly recommended for angry punks. Click here for their Facebook and go see them June 16 at Fox’s Sherron Inn.

THE 707’S
A most excellent punk rock band from South Florida. Saw these guys last night at churchill’s for the first time and they were fucking RAD. Awesome performers and great musicians, they’re all crazy talented. The songs are really fast and angry and punk, but not super 80s style although you do get some of that feel. I feel like I’m not saying enough about them, but I just heard them for the first time so all I can really say is just listen to them for yourself and you’ll see how sick these guys are! sooo I have some bad news.

I have a previous engagement I had forgotten about that conflicts with the May 26 show at Solid Sound Studios (cousin’s birthday dinner, I’m such a wonderful relative…). This is a show I was very much looking forward to and I know a couple of people were counting on reviews so I decided to try something new instead of the “I guess I just won’t go” solution.

I am looking to enlist a volunteer to be my flying monkey of sorts and write a review for this show. You will be payed in love and gratitude and your review will be featured on Unfound Underground (I can’t actually pay you because I’m rather broke, this is just for anyone who wants to do it for the sake of writing and for the love of music).

If anyone is interested, just shoot me an email at unfoundunderground@aol.com

Peace, love, and punk,

Unfound Underground

GREAT SCOTT
Local Florida ska band. These are my favorite kind. I’ve never heard these guys before, but they have one track up on their Facebook called Colonel Mustard and I’m kinda digging it. They have that really cool raw-sounding recording thing going on which, as I have said many times, I absolutely love. Since there’s only one song up though, there’s not much I can really say about Great Scott at this moment other than I like them enough that I’ll definitely be sticking around on the May 26 show to see them!
p.s. thanks to ridingthe4thwave for the submission!
